Jino laughed as he watched Temperance poke the older boy repeatedly in the side, but abruptly stopped as she spoke.

“You know, you could help! What is this, pick on the 3^rd year day? Geeze!!”

Jino smirked at the comment, shaking his head gently before picking Basil up and placing him off of his lap. He hoisted himself off the couch and walked over to the two, lowering himself slightly so he was eye-level with Temperance.

“Hmmmmm,” He said, pretending to think about his options. “What to do, what to do. This is quite the predicament.”

Without another word, he wandered over to the mantle and snatched up the jelly beans before sauntering back over to Temperance. He smirked and picked a few jelly beans out before popping them in his mouth.

Without another word, he snatched Temperance off of Loki’s shoulder and cradled her in his arms, bridal style. He smirked at Temperance before turning back to Loki.

“You shouldn’t hold a girl like a sack of flour,” Jino chided, shaking his head at Loki. “They’re a lot more delicate than that.”

Jino chuckled, shaking his head in amusement as Temperance put on her show; this was too funny. It wasn’t often he found entertainment outside of music and movies, seeing as he didn’t have many friends at school.

He watched as Basil bounded down the stairs and stopped just before hopping off the last step; he stared curiously at Loki and Temperance for a moment, slightly bewildered at the odd atmosphere he had just stumbled upon.

“It’s okay, Base,” Jino said, smiling towards the cat. “Come on.”

Without another word, Basil darted across the room and hopped into Jino’s lap, purring contently before glancing back at the other two. Basil was a very loyal cat; he very rarely gave anyone aside from Jino the time of day.

“You’ll have to excuse Basil,” Jino said to the two, running his fingers along the cat’s spine. “He’s a little shy. Go on, continue your discussion. Sorry for the interruption.” He said with a smirk.

Jino stared at her suspiciously for a moment before cautiously taking the jelly beans from her hands.

“How else was I supposed to eat them?”

“Well, I mean,” Jino started, covering his mouth as he chewed. “You could grab the jar and get down. Go sit on the couch or whatnot.” He laughed as she called the mantle ‘comfortable.’ “I’m fine just where I am, thanks.” He said, shaking his head.

“What are you doing up early? No one is up this early but me.”

“Well, you see,” Jino said, watching her eyes slowly fade to green; had he not been used to the oddities and bizarre abilities the students of Hogwarts had, he would have been shocked. But now, it didn’t faze him at all. “Thought I had Potions after breakfast, and my internal clock decided to make me freak out and think I was gonna be late.” He shrugged. “Then I remembered it was Sunday.”

He gazed around the common room for a moment before trailing over to the couch and collapsing onto it. “You really find that fireplace comfortable?”

It took Jino a minute to realize where the chipper voice had come from; it wasn’t until he turned towards the fireplace did he see the girl perched upon the mantle.

“Oh…erm, hello,” He said, analyzing the situation he had stumbled upon. He knew this girl; not personally, but he’d seen her many a time in the common room with her cat. He knew she was a third year, and her last name was Tonks, but that was really the extent of his knowledge on the girl.

“You’re…Temperance, right?” He asked, walking towards the mantle of the fireplace, his hands shoved in his pockets. He watched her shove the jelly beans into her mouth and looked her right in the eye, his eyebrow raising in confusion. “I can understand eating jelly beans, but…why on the fireplace?”

Mornings tended to be Jino’s least favorite time of day; if he had his way, he’d sleep ‘til noon (at the earliest), take his time in getting ready, and laze around the castle all day; perhaps explore the grounds a little, despite knowing them inside-out after all the times he’d skipped class and simply wandered about.

But unfortunately, Jino was not to have his way; he had Potions first thing after breakfast. He cursed as he got himself dressed, his cat, Basil, perched upon his bed and watching him peculiarly. “What?” Jino asked the feline, expecting some sort of response; Basil simply cocked his head to the side, causing Jino to sigh heavily.

He was just about to grab his books when realization washed over him — it was Sunday. No class on Sunday.

He groaned under his breath, chastising himself for not paying better attention to the day of the week; he should have known it was Sunday. He rubbed his eyes, applying enough pressure for him to see stars, before quickly running his fingers through his hair. “You could have told me what day it was, Base,” Jino said, reaching out and stroking the cats head. Basil mewed in response, causing Jino to chuckle.

He quickly got changed into some comfier clothes — if one could call grey skinny jeans, a slim-fitting, charcoal-colored sweater and a pair of black Chuck Taylors “comfy” — before bidding adieu to Basil and making his way down into the common room.
